Vietnam and Slovenia relations.
I. Political relations: On June 7th 1994, Vietnam recognized and established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Slovenia. Slovenia has appointed its Ambassador to China, concurrently to Vietnam. We have appointed our Ambassador to Austria concurrently to Slovenia. Slovenia's Foreign Minister, Dmitri Ru-pen paid an official visit to Vietnam from March 3 - 5/6/2006. This is the first government-level delegation of Slovenia to visit Vietnam since the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries. During the visit, the two sides signed a protocol on cooperation between the two foreign ministries. Deputy Foreign Minister Le Cong Phung visited Slovenia from 21-22/5/2007 in the framework of the regular political exchanges between the two countries. Slovenian President Danilo Turk met Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on the sidelines of the ASEM 7 meeting in Beijing (24-25/10/2008). II.Quan economic-trade system: In 2011, the total two-way trade turnover reached 35 million USD, of which Vietnam's exports reached $ 22 million, imports reached 13 million USD. Currently, Slovenia and Vietnam are also negotiating the signing of the Agreements on Promotion and protection of investments, on avoidance of double taxation, economic cooperation agreement ...in order to create a legal framework for cooperation between the two countries. Two sides also signed the Agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders. January 5, 2012
