Vietnam - Serbia relations

On March 10st 1957, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam established diplomatic relations with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Its also the date of diplomatic relations establishment with Serbia as the legal successor of the Federation. Viet Nam has appointed its Ambassador to Romania, concurrently to Serbia. Serbia has appointed its ambassador to Indonesia concurrently to Viet Nam. Since 2000, the Serbian Foreign Ministers visited Vietnam three times (2000, 2008, 2011). In April 2011, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem paid the official visit to Serbia. The bilateral two-way trade has mainly been performed through a third country. Annual trade turnover reached around 1000 million USD.
