1. Political relations

Vietnam recognized Georgia’s independence on 27th December 1991. The two countries signed the Protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations on 30th June 1992. The political relations between the two countries have been good without any outstanding issue. Vietnam and Georgia now maintain the traditional and fraternal relations formed under the Soviet time.

2. Economic and trade relations

Little has been achieved in the economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Georgia. The Vietnamese embassy in Russia also covers Georgia.
