Phnom Penh, Oct. 22 (VNA)- Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia has spoken of the necessity for both his country and Viet Nam, particularly Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City, to boost comprehensive cooperation with focus on economy.

Hun Sen told HCM City Mayor Le Thanh Hai during their meeting in Phnom Penh on Friday that the two sides should tap their geographic closeness to develop tourism by all ways: by air, on land, and by sea.

He said although a member of the World Trade Organisation, Cambodia remains a fledgling economy, that needs an increasing influx of investment from Viet Nam.

The Cambodian leader welcomed his guest's proposal to open an affiliate of the Cho Ray hospital in Phnom Penh and promised to have the project licensed soon.

During his stay in Cambodia, HCM City Mayor Hai also met with National Assembly President Norodom Ranariddh and Senate President Samdech Chea Sim. A memorandum of understanding on cooperation between HCM City and Phnom Penh was inked on this occasion.

Hai and his entourage also had a meeting with business executives from the two countries, who expressed satisfaction at increasingly favourable conditions given to businesses by the two cities, including the opening of representive offices in each of the two countries.
