President Luong begins Argentina visit
(VNA) - President Tran Duc Luong arrived in Buenos Aires international airport on Monday morning, beginning his two-day official visit to Argentina at the invitation of his Argentinian counterpart Nestor Kirchner.
Just after his arrival, President Luong visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina and the Atucha 1 nuclear centre.
The visit to Argentina is the last leg of President Luong's tour of three Latin American countries, namely Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
Before departing Chile, President Luong granted an interview to Chilean TV during which he stressed that Viet Nam wants to increase its trade ties with Chile on a par with their fine political relations.
He also expressed his hope that the economic and commercial ties between the two countries will be bolstered with the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed during the visit.
While in Chile, President Luong received the President of the Chile-Viet Nam Cultural Institute, Patricia Abarzua.
