Prime Minister Phan Van Khai stresses the important task of ambassadors
(VNA): Prime Minister Phan Van Khai said that the task of Vietnamese ambassadors and diplomatic representative offices abroad is of great importance, especially in the process of international integration for national development.
During a meeting at the Government Office on February 21, Prime Minister Khai congratulated the newly-appointed ambassadors.
He said that the ambassadors would help promote friendship with their foreign hosts and expand trade and economic co-operation, thus contributing to the success of the country's industrialisation and modernisation process.
He said he hoped that the ambassadors would gain significant achievements so as to meet the Party, State and people's expectation.
On behalf of the newly-appointed ambassadors, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Cong Phung promised to increase friendship and co-operation between Vietnam and its partners.
He said that they would be more active and creative in their roles to boost trade and economic co-operation with other nations./.
