Vietnamese legislative delegation visits Brazil


Ha Noi (VNA): A delegation of the National Assembly's Committee for Social Affairs led by its Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu paid a five-day visit to Brazil from Mar. 5.

The delegation was received on Mar. 8 by the Presidents of the National Congress, the Federal Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil. The Vietnamese MPs also held working sessions with Chairpersons of the Brazilian Congress's Committees for External Relations and Defence, and Social Affairs and Family.

Brazillian parliamentary leaders applauded the Vietnamese people's victories in the struggle for national independence 30 years ago and their renewal achievements in the recent past, particularly in resolving the consequences of the war and outstanding social issues.

The hosts expressed their desire to further develop bilateral relations in economics, trade, science and technology as well as strengthen ties between the two legislative bodies. They said they were ready to share experiences in resolving social issues especially those in the medical field and AIDS prevention./.
