Education Minister awarded France's oldest civilian Order
(VNA): Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Minh Hien has been presented with the French Government's Order of Academic Palms, first class.
The honour, which is France's oldest civilian award, was given in recognition of Minister Hien's outstanding contributions to enhancing education co-operation between France and Vietnam.
Co-operation between Vietnam and France, particularly in education and training, has been continually enhanced over decades. Many educational and training projects and programmes in Vietnam have been financed by the French Government. Prominent among co-operation activities are the projects to train engineers, educational inspectors and administrators, and MA degree holders in finance and banking management, administered by the Vietnamese Government and the Vietnam-France Management and Training Centre.
