(VNA): Truong Tan Sang, Chairman of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee's Economic Commission, was received by General Secretary of the Mexican Labour Party (PT) Alberto Anaya on April 13.

General Secretary Anaya informed his guests of the PT's work to develop human resources and complete organisational work for the general election in 2006.

Recalling profound memories from his recent visits to Viet Nam, the General Secretary expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people's industriousness, creativeness and dynamism in their national construction process, affirming that Socialism is the only choice for the future.

Host and guest exchanged viewpoints on the development of a market economy, innovation, integration, and other international issues of mutual concern.

On the same day, Sang and his entourage met with Mexican Economic Minister Fernando Canales to promote bilateral cooperative ties in all fields.

Minister Canales expressed Mexico's support for Viet Nam's bid to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO). As a member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, Mexico is willing to share experiences and cooperate with Viet Nam in order to help the latter successfully organise the APEC Summit in Ha Noi in 2006.

The Minister handed over to the Vietnamese delegation a draft cooperation agreement, which contains concrete measures aiming to raise the current two-way trade turnover of 130 million USD to a new level commensurate with the two countries' potentia./.
