Talking to Jesper Morch, UNICEF Resident Representative in Ha Noi on August 2, the Vice President stressed that the Vietnamese Party and State always give priority to the protection, care and education of children, and Viet Nam's achievements in this field have been recognised by the United Nations, including the reduction of mother and infant fatalities, and the high rate of children attending schools - at 90 percent.

Jesper Morch congratulated Viet Nam on its achievements in poverty reduction and economic growth in 30 years of cooperating with the UNICEF.
He affirmed that Viet Nam's policies and targets regarding children are in line with the UNICEF's priorities, adding that Viet Nam's success can serve as a precious lesson to developing countries.
