World youths take part in workshop on Vietnam in Venezuela

(VNA): At their on-going festival in Venezuela, more than 2,000 young people and students from around the world have taken part in a workshop to share ideas about Vietnam's struggle for national independence and its socialist construction process.

Following a speech by Dao Ngoc Dung, first Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, participants were presented with documentary films and photos highlighting Vietnam's tireless efforts for national independence and development over the past 60 years.

Many young people from Cuba, Venezuela, India, Colombia and the US presented their reports on the Vietnamese people's revolution at the workshop.

Miloval Tucakovic from the US said he understood that the Vietnamese people's struggle was completely for justice. He expressed his belief in the success of Vietnam's on-going renovation process.

Vietnam has maintained social equality, reduced poverty and improved people's living conditions while building a market economy, said Ben Studd, a student from the University of London.

The Peruvian people and youths knew about Vietnam's revolution and President Ho Chi Minh, Huse Ramot from Peru said, adding that the people in Peru and Latin America as a whole have followed Vietnam's example to fight imperialism and were encouraged by its people's spirit, especially by Vietnam's successful renovation process, he stressed.

On this occasion, Secretary Dao Ngoc Dung presented Vietnam's medal for Young Generation to Kosta Sarantidis, a member of the Greek delegation to the Festival, in recognition of his contributions to the Vietnamese revolution during the anti-French resistance war. He was also presented Vietnam's orders and medals before.
