DPR Korea attaches importance to ties with Viet Nam

(VNA) -- The Workers' Party and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has always attached importance to the friendly and cooperative relations with Viet Nam, DPR Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam Pak Ung Sop has said.

The diplomat made the affirmation at a reception in Ha Noi on Oct. 7 to mark the 60th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (Oct. 10).

Addressing the meeting, Vu Khoan, Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, reiterated that the Vietnamese Party and people will always consistently support the glorious revolutionary cause of the Korean people.

"Viet Nam supports the Korean people's cherished building of a unified, peaceful and prosperous country, as well as their efforts and measures to speed up negotiations and cooperation in the Korean Peninsula," Khoan said.

He added that the move would help maintaining peace and long-lasting stability in the region and the world.

Khoan expressed his belief that with their glorious tradition and under the leadership of the DPR Workers' Party headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the Korean people would gain further successes in their path of building and safeguarding their socialist nation, and securing peace for their unified nation.
