Friendship Order presented to Cuba's Minister of Interior
(VNA) - Senior lieutenant-general Abelardo Colome Ibarra, Politburo member of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee, Vice President of the State Council and Minister of Interior, was presented with the Friendship Order of the Vietnamese State by Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Pham Tien Tu in Havana on Oct. 7.
Abelardo Colome had actively contributed to promoting and developing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Tu said he hoped that Viet Nam and Cuba would further develop friendship and cooperation, especially in preparations to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic ties.
He stressed that the decoration made on the 60th anniversary of the Viet Nam People's Police, reflects the Vietnamese Party and State's recognition of Cuba's valuable assistance to Viet Nam's past struggle for national independence and present national defence and construction.
