Viet Nam increases seafood exports to Belgium

(VNA) -- A programme to advertise Vietnamese seafoods will be conducted in Brussels, Belgium, next month by Sheraton Brussels following the success of Vietnamese Cuisine Days in Belgium, announced the Viet Nam Association for Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

The country has so far this year exported an estimated 50 million USD worth of seafoods to Belgium, a year-on-year rise of 50 percent, thanks to efforts in promoting trade. Belgium ranks seventh among importers of Vietnamese seafoods.

The main export items to the market are frozen shrimp and fish, accounting for 34.6 percent and 45.5 percent of the total export turnover, respectively.

In addition, Vietnamese businesses have also exported frozen cuttle-fish and other processed seafoods.
