On behalf of Vietnamese expats who returned to invest in the homeland, Bui Van Tuyen, from France, said that the State has cleared a lot of difficulties for overseas Vietnamese and has provided them with favourable conditions on their return.
Back home for 18 years, during which he set up the BVT company in Hai Duong province, Tuyen asserted that overseas Vietnamese were proud of the success of the Doi Moi process and the country's prestige in the international arena.
At the meeting, ex-Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Bui Manh Hai was elected the association's President for the 2007-2012 term.
Participants elected a 73-member executive board for the association and agreed to invite some overseas Vietnamese, who returned home for many years, to a consultative council for the executive board./.
