DPRK official hails Vietnamese party chief visit
Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh's upcoming visit would mark a new milestone in the two parties' relationship and bring the two countries' ties to new heights, President of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Yong Nam said.
Receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to the DPRK Le Van Cu in Pyongyang on October 8, the Korean leader affirmed that his Party, Government and people have treasured ties with Viet Nam and will do so in the future.
The Korean president said he was glad to see new development in the traditional, friendly relationship between the two countries and to know that Viet Nam has made immense achievements in the course of modernizing and industrializing the country.
Ambassador Cu assured his host that Viet Nam continues to hold onto a policy that aims to develop friendship and cooperation with the DPRK and that the country supports the DPRK people's course towards socialism, peace, self-reliance, and national unification.-(VNA)
