Deputy PM welcomes Mexican deputy foreign minister
Deputy FM Lourdes Aramda Bezaury’s two-day visit aims to implement the two countries’ political consultation mechanisms at the deputy foreign minister level.
Deputy PM Khiem spoke highly of the results of the Mexican diplomat’s visit, talks and working sessions and said Vietnam and Mexico have great potential to boost bilateral cooperation for mutual development.
The Deputy PM thanked the Mexican government and people for their valuable assistance to Vietnam , especially their support for Vietnam ’s WTO accession and UN Security Council’s non-permanent membership in the 2008-09 term.
Deputy FM Bezaury said Mexico attached importance to boosting friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam .
During the visit, the Mexican Deputy FM also held talks with permanent deputy FM Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Huu Hao and President of the Vietnam-Latin America Parliamentarians Friendship Association Ha Van Hien. She also visited the Diplomatic Institute.
At the talks and meetings, the two sides agreed to make potentials and strengths supplement each other in development, especially in agriculture, energy, science and technology, culture, health care, education and tourism.
They exchanged views on measures to accelerate bilateral ties and affirmed their determination to promote coordination and mutual support in international organisations and multilateral forums like the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum and the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) to raise the two countries’ prestige and contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the two regions and the world.(VNA)
