Overseas Vietnamese updated on homeland’s economy
New York (VNA) – Vietnamese business people in Oakland , California , were updated on the homeland’s socio-economic situation, particularly its investment environment, at a meeting with the Vietnamese Consul General in San Francisco on June 1.
Consul General Le Quoc Hung also talked in detailed about issues of great concern of overseas Vietnamese such as visa exemption, nationality and real estate policies.
Oakland , the fifth biggest port city of the US , is currently home to 35,000 Vietnamese. It established relations with the central port city of Da Nang of Vietnam in 2005.
Earlier, the Consul General made a working visit to the Vietnamese community in Houston , Texas.
