Overseas Vietnamese makes contribution to Community Support Fund
Hanoi (VNA) – An overseas Vietnamese who is also chairman of the Vietnamese community in Ekaterinbua city of Russia donated 100 million VND to the Community Support Fund under the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.
Deputy chairman of the committee Nguyen Quoc Dung hailed the support and emphasised that it is an encouragement for the fund to maintain operation so as to meet the requirements of the overseas Vietnamese community.
In 2007, the fund received 3 billion VND as support from individuals and organisations. It aims at financing projects that preserve and develop the country’s cultural identity, maintaining and developing Vietnamese language within overseas Vietnamese communities and holding exchange activities for overseas Vietnamese.
The fund also help overseas Vietnamese make investments and cooperation in Vietnam.
