Party senior official welcomes Slovakia communist party delegation


Hanoi (VNA) – Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Politburo member, Truong Tan Sang, on July 21 welcomed visiting Communist Party of Slovakia President Jozef Hrdlicka and his delegation.
Sang, who is also permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, thanked the people of former Czechoslovakia and Slovakia for their assistance to the Vietnamese people in their past struggle for national independence and current national construction.

He briefed his guests about Vietnam ’s current renewal process, its orientations for development as well as the Vietnamese Party and State’s open-door foreign policy of independence.

He said he hoped Vietnam-Slovakia friendship and cooperation would be further promoted and developed.

The Slovakian Party leader praised the achievements and experiences of Vietnam under the CPV’s leadership in the revolutionary cause, the renewal process and the national industrialisation and modernisation.

He affirmed he would do his utmost to boost friendship and cooperation between the two parties and countries.

The same day, a CPV delegation, led by the Secretary of the CPV Central Committee’s Information and Training Commission, To Huy Rua, held talks with the Slovakia delegation.

The two sides discussed measures to accelerate the two parties’ relations, contributing to boosting the two countries’ traditional friendship and cooperative ties.

The Slovakian delegation also plans to visit a number of economic and cultural establishments and work with the leadership of Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh province.
