President Triet congratulates China’s successful 2008 Beijing Olympics
Vietnamese State President Nguyen Minh Triet has sent a message to Chinese President Hu Jintao to congratulate the successful organisation of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
In his telegram, Mr Triet wrote that taking the lead in the gold medal tally, the Chinese team has marked a turning point in Olympic history, affirming its important role as a powerful sporting nation.
The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has been praised as the most successful event in Olympic history. Thorough preparations for the Games, as well as Chinese people’s hospitality have made deep impressions on international guests and helped them better understand the people and culture of a great China, he emphasized.
President Triet termed the Games, under the theme “One World One Dream”, as the world’s largest sporting event that created a good opportunity to honour the common values of human being – solidarity, friendship and love for peace. (VOV)
