President congratulates Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association

State President Nguyen Minh Triet has sent a letter of greetings to the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association on its 50 th founding anniversary.

Hanoi (VNA) – “Over the past half century, the former Soviet Union-Vietnam Association and its successor – the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association – have made significant contributions to strengthening and promoting the comradeship, friendship and effective cooperation between the two countries.” Triet writes in the letter.

The President affirms that Vietnamese Party, State and people always bear in their mind the former Soviet Union and the Russian people’s unselfish help, both spiritual and material, to the Vietnamese people in their past severe struggle against foreign invaders and their current national construction.

He reiterates the Vietnamese State and people’s determination to do their best to develop the precious treasure of the two peoples’ traditional friendship and expand the two countries’ multifaceted cooperation.

“I hope that the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association, with support from State agencies and people in both countries, will make worthy contributions to obtain the fine goals,” he said.
