Hanoi, Vientiane look to further ties
Hanoi and Vientiane will continue develop their relationship and cooperation in the new period, in the spirit of friendship, effectiveness and practicality.
Vientiane (VNA) - Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi made the affirmation at his meetings with Laos ’ National Assembly Chairman Thongsing Thammavong, and Vice President Bounnhang Volachit, who doubled as permanent member of the Secretariat of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party in Vientiane on Sept. 16.
Nghi informed the Lao leaders about Hanoi ’s decision to grant 2 million USD for Vientiane to the build an administrative management school in the city.
The Lao high-ranking leaders spoke highly of Hanoi ’s assistance to Vientiane during the past and said they hoped the two capitals would make breakthroughs in investment cooperation in the time to come.
The two capitals should exchange experiences in preparing for the grand ceremony of the 1,000 th birthday of Thang Long-Hanoi and the 450 th anniversary of Vientiane in 2010, they said.
