Party leader welcomes Japanese communists

Hanoi (VNA) – The Japanese and Vietnamese communist parties should continue to develop their relationship and increase cooperation to further the common interests of the two parties and countries, contributing to peace, democracy and social development, both regionally and globally.
The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and Fuwa Tetsuzo, permanent member of the presidium of the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) Central Committee and director of the JCP Central Committee’s Sciences Institute, reached agreement on these issues at a meeting in Hanoi on September 24.

Party leader Manh congratulated the JCP’s remarkable achievements in the struggle for social welfare, democracy and social development in Japan and affirmed that the CPV wholly supports their Japanese counterparts in such causes.

He placed great value on the second theoretical exchange between the two parties taking place between September 24-26, which aims to share experiences and raise public awareness of socialist theory and its application in the modern age.

In response, Fuwa Tetsuzo congratulated the Vietnamese people on their impressive achievements in their renewal ( doi moi ) process.

Earlier, a Vietnamese delegation led by Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee held talks with the Japanese delegation.

The two sides exchanged views on a number of theoretical issues of common concern and discussed ways to further the friendship and solidarity between the two parties in the future.

During their week-long stay in Vietnam , the Japanese delegation will meet with the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City leaders.
