Vietnamese, Lao localities expand cooperation
At the meeting, Director of Quang Ngai province’s Department of Planning and Investment Tran Van Nhan said that the province would call on local businesses to invest in Champasak.
The Lao delegation’s leader, Nalongsak Sattakoun, Director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, expressed his hope that Quang Ngai will continue to develop its cooperation with Champasak, particularly training in fish breeding and industrial tree planting techniques.
Under cooperative agreements between the two localities, Quang Ngai has received 20 Champasak students, designed a number of water pumping stations and carried out the training of technicians for the Lao province.
Meanwhile, Champasak province plans to teach Laotian to a number of Quang Ngai officials and to set aside a zone consisting of 200 ha for the Vietnamese locality’s businesses to grow cassava.
In addition, the Lao province will create favourable conditions for Quang Ngai enterprises to invest in building trade centres and farm produce establishments in the locality./.
