General Secretary stresses need for clean strong Party
General Secretary Manh made the statement at a ceremony in Hanoi to mark the party inspection sector’s 60 th traditional day (Oct. 16, 1948-2008) and to present the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Inspection with the Golden Star Order, the highest state decoration.
The Party leader said that inspectors are required to have a thorough understanding of the political creed, Party rules and laws and to ensure their work is conducted in a fair, precise and timely manner.
Addressing the ceremony, head of the Commission for Inspection Nguyen Van Chi said inspectors have been always loyal to the Party, believing in its leadership and observing its policies, guidelines and instructions.
However, there remain a number of shortcomings that the sector should address, including poor competence among its inspectors, Chi said.
Many high-level officials were present at the function to congratulate the sector, including National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong, Party Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Truong Tan Sang, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Huynh Dam.
