Mozambique seeks stronger ties with southern hub
Baloi assured Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan of his government’s high respect to friendship and all-round cooperation with the Southeast Asian nation.
“The two nations both are fully aware of the value of freedom, both have undergone a period of centralization economy and both are catching development opportunities and gearing towards a market economy,” said the African country’s minister.
He added that HCM City’s experience and achievements have made strong stimuli to the struggle for poverty reduction in Mozambique, which is embarking on wheat growing and bio-energy development in an effort to overcome the on-going economic crisis.
In return, the HCM City leader pledged to implement high-level commitments, thus bringing economic, scientific and technological, cultural and educational cooperation to match political ties that the two countries are basking in.
Quan also called on the Mozambique Government to support Vietnam in its efforts for the world recognition of a full market economy status as well as in forums on bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation, especially in cooperation with Africa .
Mozambique Foreign Minister Baloi and his delegates are to leave Vietnam on April 5./.
