Vietnam wants to expand relations with Singapore

VNA 12/01/2010 - Vietnam has always followed its consistent policy of attaching great importance to intensifying and expanding friendly relations with neighbouring countries including Singapore.

Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh delivered the statement while hosting the visiting Singaporean Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong, in Hanoi on January 12.

Such cooperation relations are for the sake of the two peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world, the Party chief said.

Lee said he was happy when visiting Vietnam on the first days of the New Year and expressed his belief that Vietnam will go on with its fast and sustainable development.

He shared several experiences in economic development with the Party chief and confirmed Singapore ’s policy to further intensify multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in trade, investment and human resource training./.
