Macao vows to continue developing ties with Vietnam

VNA 28/01/2010 - Macao will continue its policy to develop multi-faceted relations with Vietnam , said new Chief Executive of China’s Macao Special Administrative Region Fernando Chui Sai On.

While receiving Vietnamese Consul General to the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions Pham Cao Phong on January 27, the Macao Chief Executive said that Vietnam is a partner with great potential.

For his part, the Vietnamese representative reviewed major developments in the relationship between Vietnam and Macao with two-way trade and investment continuously increasing in recent years.

The upcoming Hanoi-Macao direct air route is expected to further boost the cooperation and exchange between Vietnamese and Macao residents, he said.

He also asked Chui Sai On, as the new Macao Chief Executive, to continue creating conditions for the two sides to strengthen their cooperation in economics, trade, investment, labour, education and culture./.
