State President highlights Vietnam-Russia friendship


VNA 23/02/2010 – State President Nguyen Minh Triet has hailed cooperation projects between Moscow and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City , stressing that they reflect the deep friendship between the two peoples.


 
At his reception upon visiting Moscow Vice Mayor Vladimir Resin in Hanoi on Feb. 23, President Triet said that his gratitude extends to the support and help from the people of the former Soviet in the past as well as the Russian Federation at present.

“The Vietnamese people always keep in mind the warm sentiments conveyed by this assistance,” he emphasised.

He thanked the Moscow authorities for creating good conditions and providing help for the Vietnamese people who are living in Russia .

The President applauded the significance of the current visit by the Moscow Vice Mayor, saying that it promotes relations between Moscow and Hanoi as well as HCM City , thus contributing to enhancing relations between the two countries.

Vice Mayor Resin said that he was impressed with Vietnam ’s development achievements, especially in trade between Moscow and other Vietnamese cities.

The number of Russian arrivals to Vietnam has considerably increased thanks to the country’s decision to grant Russian citizens a 15-day tourist visa on arrival, he said.

He said places imbued with Vietnamese characteristics, such as cultural and trade centres, are expected to be built in Moscow soon and vice-versa in Hanoi and HCM City .

The Moscow authorities are ready to help Vietnam ’s two largest cities in urban planning and metro construction, he affirmed./.
