At the reception, Loi said that Singh and his delegation’s visit to Vietnam is a good chance for the two countries’ armies to share experiences and seek fields of cooperation.
The armies have exchanged delegations in the past and helped provide training in each other’s languages, Loi said, adding he hoped the ties will continue to develop mutual benefits.
For his part, Singh said he was happy with his first working trip to Vietnam and hoped the two countries’ armies would enhance cooperation in training, humanitarian services and search and rescue, and share experiences in taking part in the United Nations-run peacekeeping forces.
On the same day, Singh paid a courtesy call on General Phung Quang Thanh, Vietnamese Minister of Defence, and met the Institute of Military Strategies ’ officials./.
