The session reviewed the organisation of the 43 ^rd ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, the 17 ^th ASEAN Regional Forum and related meetings, and the Economic Community Council and Socio-Cultural Community Council meetings.

It also mentioned the preparation for the 17 ^th ASEAN Summit in Hanoi in late October and other activities concerning Vietnam ’s ASEAN Chair.

Deputy PM Khiem applauded the efforts of related agencies and branches in organising the 16 ^th ASEAN Summit and other important meetings, saying that Vietnam efficiently fulfilled two thirds of its jobs in its year as ASEAN Chair.

He also stressed the importance of the 17 ^th ASEAN Summit and related senior meetings and asked designated agencies for prompt preparations for these meetings as well as the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting and partners (ADMM+), the Meeting of ASEAN Chiefs of Homeland Security (MACHOS) and other activities from now to the end of 2010.

He also requested subcommittees and relevant ministries and branches to promptly complete the agenda for the meetings and ensure efficient information dissemination, reception, security and sanitation for the meetings./.
