The Government chief made the statement during his reception to a visiting Belgian delegation led by Prince Philippe in Ha Noi on March 12.

PM Dung said the two-way trade value has increased considerably over the past years but it has yet matched with the two sides’ potentials.

He asked Belgium to support Việt Nam to develop relations with the European Union and enhance coordination at bilateral and multi-lateral forums.

PM Dung took the occasion to thank Belgium for its official development assistance, saying it has contributed effectively to realizing socio-economic targets in the Southeast Asian country.

He asked Prince Philippe to convey his invitation to his Belgium counterpart to pay an official visit to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Prince Philippe said he was impressed with Viet Nam’s socio-economic development achievements.

The Belgian Prince revealed that the delegation grouped leading businesses operating in the fields of seaport and infrastructure development, healthcare, green technologies, waste water treatment, recycled energies, and tertiary education.

He hoped that Vietnamese businesses would invest in Belgium in the future.
