Kuwait funds Viet Nam’s rural road construction


Ha Noi (VNA) – The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) will provide a loan of 14 million USD to a project to upgrade rural roads in northern mountainous Bac Kan province.
An agreement to this effect has been just signed by Deputy Finance Minister Tran Xuan Ha and KFAED Deputy General Director Hesham Al-Waqayan.
According to Deputy Minister Ha, the agreement marked a new step of development of the cooperation between Viet Nam and KFAED for the target of agriculture and rural development.
Hesham Al-Waqayan revealed that his fund will continue discussions with the Vietnamese Government on some other projects.
So far, Kuwait has given loans worth totally 110 million USD to rural infrastructure projects in Viet Nam , with some irrigation and rural road projects put into use effectively.
