EU - potential market for Viet Nam’s flower, fruit and vegetable exports
Hanoi (VNA) – German news network “Fruchtportal.de” has run an article saying the the European Union (EU) is emerging as a potential market for Vietnam’s flower, fruit and vegetable exports.
EU’s huge demand for those products, reaching 30 billion euros (46.6 billion USD) in its annual import earnings, is the main reason for this, the e-newspaper said.
The newspaper added that an EU member country, the Netherlands, is opening a three-year training course to help Vietnamese vegetable exporters understand EU regulations and to increase their capacity in marketing their produces to the EU.
A course with the same purpose will also be held for exporters from Ho Chi Minh city and the four southern provinces of Vietnam, the newspaper said.
Last year, Vietnam fruit and vegetable exports to 50 countries over the world earned 300 million USD, but only 90,000 USD were exported to the EU’s 27 member countries.
