French naval ship visits Vietnam


Hanoi (VNA) – The French VAR naval ship anchored in Ho Chi Minh City ’s Nha Rong port on June 20, beginning a five-day official visit to Vietnam .

The visit aims to improve and strengthen the Vietnam-France friendly relations in general and the two countries’ naval forces in particular. It is also in line with the policy on establishing a trustful partnership approved by the two countries’ leaders.

During the stay in Vietnam , the Commander of the French Joint Forces in the Indian Ocean and also the ship commander, Vice Admiral Gerard Valin, will pay courtesy visits to the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, the General staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, the Command of the Vietnamese Navy and the Command of Military Zone 7.

The ship’s crew will have friendly volleyball matches with Vietnamese naval soldiers and visit local landscapes in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
