Tokyo (VNA) – The Akahata newspaper of Japan published on July 15 an article about Vietnam’s role at the United Nations’ Security Council (UNSC), saying that the country is emerging thanks to its independent foreign policy which was developed from experiences over the past 20 years of renovation.
The newspaper highlighted Vietnam’s presidency of the UNSC this month and noted that being a member of the council poses a big challenge for the Southeast Asian nation.
Vietnam assumed the rotating presidency of the UNSC in July, taking over the position from the US.
