Hanoi (VNA) – The overseas Vietnamese association in Cambodia has become a centre for their members, especially when they are in need, said the association’s chairman Chau Van Chi.
The chairman made the remark at a meeting on July 17 to review the association activities in the first six months of this year and draw its future action plans.
Besides relief aid for those in difficult circumstances, it raised money to buy wheelchairs for the disabled and build schools for overseas Vietnamese children. These schools teaching Vietnamese have helped maintain the Vietnamese language among the younger generation of the community.
The association also serves as a bridge for individuals and organisations in Vietnam to provide aid as well as do business and boost cultural exchange with overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia.
