Japan funds school construction, training equipment

The Japanese Government has been committed to two grants worth 172,000 USD in total to help build a primary school and provide vocational training equipment for northern Phu Tho province.

Hanoi (VNA) - Under a contract signed on August 18, 88,488 USD will be used to build a two-storey primary school with 10 classrooms on a 750 sq.m. compound.

The remaining 83,500 USD will help equip Phu Tho Vocational Training High College with welding machines in an effort to meet an increasing demand for workers of this trade.

The project aims to improve the college’s teaching quality to enable it to provide skilled workers for enterprises, including Japanese investments, in the midland province.

At the signing ceremony, Japanese Ambassador Sakaba said he expected that development aid would promote friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Japan.
