Japan assists VN to cope with global climate change

VGP – The Japanese Government decided to offer credit loans to Bangladesh, the Philippines, Thailand, and Việt Nam to help these countries tackle impacts of the global climate change.

(23/06/2009-03:33:00 PM)

The move aims to call on developing countries to support the initiative of building a new global agreement on reducing greenhouse gases when the Kyoto Protocol is due to expire by the end of 2012.

The above four countries will set up specific targets to cut down on their greenhouse gas emissions in energy consumption and industries.

Japan intends to offer some ¥ 500 billion to developing countries in the next five years to realize their environment projects.

Việt Nam is among the most vulnerable countries seriously impacted by the global climate change.
