Regular Press Briefing by MOFA's Spokesman March, 22nd 2007


At the regular press briefing on March 22nd, 2007 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Le Dzung, Spokesman of the Ministry informed the participants of the following diplomatic activities:

1. Vice President Truong My Hoa to pay official visit Brunei from 25-28 March, 2007 :

At the invitation of His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Senior Minister of the Office of Brunei's Prime Minister, Vice President Truong My Hoa will pay an official visit to Brunei from 25 to 28 March, 2007.

The visit aims at reaffirming Vietnam's foreign policy to attach importance to the development of the relationship of friendship and multi-sided cooperation of Vietnam with regional neighbour countries ; and discussing measures to promote Vietnam's cooperation with Brunei, especially in economy, trade and investment.

2. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem to visit China from 24 to 29 March, 2007 :

At the invitation of Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Zhaoxing, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs will pay an official visit to China from 24 to 29 March, 2007.

The visit aims at strengthening the bilateral comprehensive cooperation with continuous development, efficiency and effectiveness; implementing the agreements reached during bilateral high-ranking visits and making preparation for visits by the two countries' leaders in 2007; exchanging ways to realize economic and trade agreements; and promoting cooperation among border provinces.

3. Belarusian President A.Lucasenco to visit Vietnam from 25-27 March, 2007:

At the invitation of Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet, Belarusian President A.Lucasenco will pay an official visit to Vietnam from 25 -27 March, 2007.

The visit aims at promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries ; exchanging experiences in renovation process ; discussing ways to enhance and broaden the bilateral cooperation, and measures to further fortify the bilateral economic and trade relations. On this occasion, the two sides will also sign a number of documents to create legal foundations for the cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus in the coming time.
