Question: Please provide Vietnam’s comment on the result of the March 22 election in Taiwan and Mr. Ma Ying-jeou was elected as Taiwan’s leade.
Answers:
Vietnam consistently pursues the “one China” policy; Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. The Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legitimate government representing all China.
Vietnam always supports China’s great cause of national unification and welcomes efforts to improve the cross-strait relations, thus contributing to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region./.
