In relation to the earthquake in central Italy on 6 April 2009 which caused great losses to the people of Italy, Spokesman Le Dzung said on 7 April 2009:

We are so grieved at the great losses caused by the recent earthquake to the Italian people. We would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Italian State, people and families of the victims. We believe that the Italian people will soon recover from the earthquake aftermath and stabilize their life.
On 7 April, President of State Nguyen Minh Triet sent a message of condolences to President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano. |
