Question: Please advise us about Vietnam's reaction on the statement made by the spokesperson of the U.S Department of State and the misinformation on the arrest of Le Cong Dinh by the Investigation Security Agency under the Ministry of Public Security on 13 June 2009?

Answer:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Security, Mr. Le Cong Dinh has violated Vietnamese laws, colluded with some people abroad in undermining the State of the Socialist Repulic of Vietnam. The arrest of Mr .Le Cong Dinh conforms to the procedures of the Vietnamese laws.

It is the consistent policy of the State of Vietnam to ensure the freedom of speech and freedom of expression for all citizens and encourage people to voice their opinions and actively participate in every aspect of the country's life.

As in any other countries, all acts violating the law by any citizen are dealt in accordance with provisions of the law./.
