Regarding the recent developments of situation in Libya, on March 20, 2011, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga said:

“Viet Nam is deeply concerned about the escalating tension and recent military activities in Libya with many consequences to the lives of Libyan people and regional peace and stability. Viet Nam urges the parties concerned to exercise restraint, put an early end to military activities, promote dialogue and seek peaceful solutions in line with the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law and the respect of the independence and sovereignty of states.”
