Remark by Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman on March 27, 2012
In response to the media query on a news report that “the Vietnamese government has revoked the visa of a Vatican delegation to visit Viet Nam to speak to people for the cause of beatification of late Cardinal Francis Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan”, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi on March 27 states that:
We always create favourable conditions for delegations appointed by the Holy See to make official working visit to Viet Nam within agreements between the two sides. Recently our competent agencies did not receive any official request from the Holy See to send such a delegation to Viet Nam.
Vietnamese authorities deal with immigration issues in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.
