Remarks by MOFA Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on the US State Department Human Rights Report

On 4th May 2018, in response to question regarding the US State Department Human Rights Report, MOFA Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang stated:

"The 2017 Human Rights Report of the US State Department still made inaccurate assessments and failed to reflect actual situation in Viet Nam though it recognized Viet Nam's human rights progress.

Viet Nam's consistent policy is to uphold and promote human rights in line with international conventions on human rights to which Viet Nam is a party. The efforts and achievements of Viet Nam have been recognized and applauded by the international community. As with other countries, Viet Nam is willing to discuss with the United States within the existing frameworks on issues of mutual interest in a frank, open and respectful spirit. Viet Nam regards this an effective way to enhance mutual understanding and resolve differences between the two sides. "
