Viet Nam-Peru visa exemption agreement to take effect

The Viet Nam-Peru agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official and special passports will come into effect on June 2, 2006, according to the Foreign Ministry.

Under the agreement signed between the two governments on February 24, 2006, the two sides will exempt from visa requirements each other's citizens who hold valid diplomatic, official or special passports for stay of up to 90 days.

Those citizens of each of the signed countries who hold valid diplomatic, official or special passports and are members of diplomatic representative agencies, consulates or international organisations, as well as their families, will benefit from the visa exemption for their entire terms of office.

Within 90 days from the date of entry, they must complete all required registration procedures for their stay at authorized agencies of the country in which they serve./.
