Indonesian MP requests closer trade ties with Viet Nam

Jakarta (VNA) – Viet Nam and Indonesia have much potential in developing cooperation in trade, investment and tourism, said Speaker of the House of Representatives of Indonesia Agung Laksono.
The Indonesian chief MP made the appreciation while meeting a visiting delegation of the Council of Ethnic Minorities of the National Assembly of Viet Nam in Jakarta on January 25.
Agung Laksono also said that both countries need foreign investment, so their parliaments are required to pass laws to improve investment and business environment. The two sides should accelerate dialogues for cooperation in taxation, custom and tourism, he said.
The Vietnamese delegation, headed by Chairman of the Council of Ethnic Minorities Kso Phuoc, has been on a six-day working visit to Indonesia from January 22 to study the process of legal building by the Indonesian House of Representatives in consideration of the relations with ethnic minorities, as well as disadvantaged people and localities.
The Vietnamese MPs also learned experiences in State policies and measures in investment and development, especially strategies for difficult areas and various groups of people.
