Party leader seeks close ties with Japanese communists

The Japanese and Vietnamese communist parties should continue to develop their relationship and increase cooperation in the interests of the two parties and countries and for peace, democracy and social development in the region and the rest of the world.
The view was shared by Nong Duc Manh, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, and Fuwa Tetsuzo, permanent member of the presidium of the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) Central Committee and director of the JCP Central Committee’s Sciences Institute, at a meeting in Hanoi on September 24.

Mr Manh spoke highly of the JCP’s remarkable achievements in the struggle for social welfare, democracy and social development in Japan and affirmed that the CPV wholly supports their Japanese counterparts in such causes. He welcomed the second theoretical exchange between the two parties in Hanoi on September 24-26 to share experiences and raise public awareness of socialist theory and its application in the new era.

For his part, Fuwa Tetsuzo congratulated the Vietnamese people on their impressive achievements in the Doi Moi (Renewal) process and thanked the CPV for its support to the JCP in the past and at present.

Earlier, a Vietnamese delegation led by Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and member of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee, held talks with the Japanese delegation.

The two sides exchanged views on a number of theoretical issues of common concern and discussed ways to strengthen the friendship and solidarity between the two parties in the future.
